Operations, backup and incident response
As CTO at Mira Internet, I was responsible for hosting, server operations, capacity, backup and redundancy. I handled technical incidents and customer requirements in a business providing critical services. As a company owner, I also managed people, customer relationships and technical delivery priorities. That combination is relevant to an IT organisation where operations, development and business expectations meet. I am accustomed to taking responsibility for both the technical issue and communication with the people affected.
Leading IT specialists
I want people to understand their responsibilities and know where to turn for support. I have recruited employees, held development conversations and given specialists independent ownership. I have also worked with customer decision-makers to agree needs, capacity and quality. As Head of IT, I would use that experience to establish clear agreements between IT and the business. I remain accessible day to day and take responsibility for conversations when expectations differ or priorities need to change.
Providers and technology costs
My operations experience includes Linux, virtualisation, storage, backup, redundancy and monitoring. I have worked with hosting on owned infrastructure and through providers including AWS, OVH and Hetzner. In customer projects, I have also weighed standard products against custom development, considering total cost of ownership. I use that experience to assess technical options, provider choices and business needs together, ensuring that decisions account for both initial delivery and the responsibilities of running the solution afterwards.
